Math Grove — Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 October 2026 · mathgrove.app
These terms are the agreement between you and UNP Digital LLC
(“we”) for using Math Grove: the apps for iOS and Android
(dev.patnaik.mathgrove) and this website, mathgrove.app. By
installing or using Math Grove you agree to them. Our
Privacy Policy explains what the app stores and is
part of this agreement.
The short version
- Math Grove is a math-facts app for children aged roughly 4–7, made to be played by a child and a grown-up together.
- The grown-up is our customer. Accounts are created and purchases are made only by an adult; a child never agrees to anything here.
- The Meadow and the Practice Room are free, with or without an account. Other worlds and extra child slots are bought through the App Store or Google Play, and belong to your family.
- Use it at home, for your own family, as it is meant to be used.
- We provide the app as it is, and do our best to keep it working well.
1. Who may use Math Grove
You must be an adult (18 or older, or the age of majority where you live) to accept these terms, create an account or make a purchase. You must be the parent or legal guardian of any child who plays, or have that parent's or guardian's permission. Math Grove is designed for a child and a grown-up to use together, and a child's use is under your supervision and responsibility. Children cannot create accounts and are never asked for personal information; the only thing a child ever types is the answer to a math problem.
2. The free parts and the parent account
The Meadow (the first zone) and the Practice Room are free and work fully without an account. A parent account is free and optional: it backs your family up and lets you move between devices. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for everything done through your account. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, which erases the family's stored copy as described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Purchases
- Additional worlds and extra child slots are sold through the App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown there, in your local currency, before you buy. We never see or store your payment details.
- A purchase belongs to your family: every child set up in the app shares it, and it survives a reset of progress. A purchased world can be restored on another device signed in to the same store account (and, with a parent account, follows your family's backup).
- Refunds are handled by the store you bought through, under its own policy; we are not able to issue them ourselves. Use the store's family and purchase-approval settings (such as Apple's Ask to Buy) if you want purchases to need your approval.
- Prices and purchase options are shown only to grown-ups, behind the parent gate, never to a child.
- We will never take away a world your family has bought. We may change what is free, add new worlds, or change prices for future purchases.
4. Using Math Grove
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use Math Grove on devices you own or control, for your own family's non-commercial use. Please do not:
- copy, modify, sell, rent or redistribute the app or any of its art, music, voices, text or code;
- reverse engineer the app or try to get around its parent gate, purchase checks or security;
- use automated tools to access the app or our services, or interfere with how they work for other families;
- use the app in a school, club or other organisation that charges for access, without our written agreement (write to us; we are glad to talk about it).
5. Our content
Everything in Math Grove — the characters, art, animations, music, voices, lesson scripts, game designs and software — belongs to UNP Digital LLC or is used under licence, and is protected by copyright and other laws. The teaching approach draws on established, published methods for learning math facts; Math Grove is not affiliated with or endorsed by any author or publisher of those methods. These terms give you the licence in section 4 and nothing more.
6. Privacy and children
How the app treats your family's information, including what is stored, what never leaves the device, parental consent for the optional backup, and how to erase everything, is set out in the Privacy Policy. It is written for parents, and we encourage you to read it before creating an account.
7. Changes to the app
We improve Math Grove over time: adding lessons, games and worlds, changing how things look and work, and sometimes removing features that no longer earn their place. Some updates may be required to keep using the app or the backup. If we ever decide to stop offering Math Grove altogether, we will give reasonable notice inside the app and on this website, and the parts that work without an account will keep working on your device for as long as it can run them.
8. What we promise, and what we cannot
We work hard to make Math Grove accurate, safe and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent the law allows. Math Grove is a learning aid for families, not a substitute for a teacher or a curriculum, and we do not promise any particular learning result. We do not promise that the app will always be available or free of errors, though we fix the ones we find.
9. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, UNP Digital LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of Math Grove, and our total liability to you for all claims together will not exceed the amount your family paid us for Math Grove in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty US dollars if that is greater. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so some of them may not apply to you; nothing in these terms limits any right the law gives you that cannot be limited by agreement.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Math Grove at any time; deleting your account and uninstalling the app ends the agreement for you. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and will tell you why where we can. Sections 5, 8, 9 and 12 continue to apply afterwards.
11. App stores
If you got Math Grove from Apple's App Store, these additional terms apply because Apple requires them: this agreement is between you and UNP Digital LLC only, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app; Apple is not responsible for any claim relating to the app, including product-liability, consumer-protection or intellectual-property claims, which are our responsibility to the extent these terms allow; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or listed as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. If you got Math Grove from Google Play, Google's own terms of service for the store also apply to your purchase.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at support@mathgrove.app; most problems can be sorted out in a few emails. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you and we each agree to their jurisdiction. If you live in a country whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your own courts, nothing here takes that right away.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and its date. Where a change is material, we will also say so inside the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Math Grove after a change means you accept the new terms; if you do not, stop using the app and, if you wish, delete your account.
